Kratos, the titular God of War, spent four games fighting his way through the Greek pantheon—and now, in the latest title in the series, he has turned his attention to the Nordic gods. By sticking with the series and developing the character, developer Santa Monica Studio has done something incredible – they’ve developed a force of pure rage into a nuanced character at war not just with the gods, but with themselves. The 2018 game also features some of the best combat on the PS4 – few things in life are more satisfying than hurling a huge axe into your opponents from afar.
